Associate Account Planner

The Associate Account Planner works with the account planning team to help research and develop media plans across multiple channels. Will provide support and follow-up for client inquiries and assist in preparing presentation materials, media plans and/or grids and full media proposals. The Associate Account Planner must become well versed in all types of media and must stay current with rapidly proliferating new media options.  

Duties:

  • Assist with the development and proofing of the media plans across all channels, working with specialized activation teams in areas of traditional and digital. 
  • Assist with development, execution and monitoring of all media plans; create and maintain flowcharts/plans including actualized budgets and timely invoices. Assist with media reconciliation.
  • Assist in the development of agency Point of Views (POV) and rationale on media opportunities for submission to the client.
  • Assist in the development, execution and monitoring of all media campaigns including maintaining flowcharts and budgets.
  • Assist in gathering media research required for planning. Develop a basic understanding of the media research tools available within Agency. 
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients and vendors. Appropriately respond to all communication, including emails and calls, within 24 hours. Refer any problem to direct manager when needed.
  • Help issue buy/creative spec sheets to communicate media plan and goals to Media Buyer. Assist in generating digital insertion orders (IO's) to be provided to the Digital Project Manager.
  • Compile demographic data and consumer profiles to identify desired target audiences for specific media vehicles, including lifestyles and psychographics, which can be used in developing media plans.
  • Collect, develop, and issue deadlines for materials needed and report deadlines to client’s creative team and internal traffic department.
  • Maintain all resource and media files, updating constantly.
  • Assist in the creation and proofing of campaign results, both internally and externally on effectiveness of media plan. Work with RADaR Department where appropriate. 
  • Work with Account Planners and Senior Account Planners to ensure professional growth and learning. 

Required Skills, Experience and Education: 

  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail oriented, organized and analytical
  • Strong verbal, math and written communication skills
  • Proficient with computers, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to problem solve and think creatively to overcome obstacles
  • Able to work within a team environment while handling multiple projects with deadlines
  • Previous agency internship and/or less than two years agency experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree; degree or concentration in advertising, marketing or communications preferred
  • Successfully pass Google Fundamentals Test within 6 months in position
