Payroll Coordinator

*Part-time/flexible hours position, not full fulltime*

The Payroll Coordinator will focus on managing the payroll system for 100+ employees. This includes processing semi-monthly payroll, updating employee systems, reconciling benefit billing statements, and maintaining accurate records and employee files. Payroll tools include a cloud-based payroll and Onboarding management software system. Limited administrative responsibilities will include organizing the benefits material (insurance to 401(k) and maintaining personnel records. (Hourly, non-exempt role)

This position is designed for 10-12 hrs per week

  • Maintains confidentiality with all employer and employee information
  • Using cloud-based systems, process semi-monthly payroll with full accuracy and follow-up
  • Communicates with HR Director, employees and management team on payroll 
  • Maintains employee personnel files
  • Flexible work schedule, with priority given to payroll processing dates and new hire start dates

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Knowledge of labor law, benefits  and compensation, met by 2-3 years of professional work experience with a focus on a Payroll software system
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail oriented, organized and analytical
  • Strong verbal, math and written communication skills
  • Proficient with computers, specifically Microsoft Office Suite
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree; concentration in human resources, accounting or business management preferred.
